Course Description
Studies in Awareness, Movement & Living is an educational approach that regards the body, movement, and direct experience as the starting point for understanding.
This program integrates mindful practice, study, and observation, drawing upon the disciplines of Tai Chi Chuan, Qigong, Yoga, cognitive science, Daoist philosophy, Vedic traditions, and principles of lifestyle design. Its purpose is not merely to teach a sequence of movements or to transmit theoretical knowledge, but to cultivate the capacities for observation, self-regulation, learning, and conscious living in everyday life.
Within this approach, each practice is carefully designed and guided according to the participant's individual condition, needs, and learning process, fostering a lasting connection between direct experience, theoretical understanding, and practical application in daily life.
In this context, "Studies" does not refer simply to academic study. Rather, it denotes an integrated process of observation, direct experience, practice, dialogue, and inquiry, through which learning emerges from the body, movement, and the lived experience of life.
Course Structure
Studies in Awareness, Movement & Living is built upon three complementary pillars that are integrated throughout the entire learning process.
Study & Understanding
Participants are introduced to the foundations of cognitive science, Daoist philosophy, Vedic traditions, the Darshanas of Yoga, and other fields related to awareness, movement, and the art of living.
Experience & Practice
Guided practice forms the core of the program, drawing primarily on Tai Chi Chuan, Qigong, breathwork, stillness, and attentional training, with selected Yoga practices incorporated where appropriate. Every session emphasizes full presence, embodied awareness, and direct experience.
Integration into Daily Life
Learning extends beyond the classroom through individually designed practices that support the refinement of daily habits, self-regulation, energy management, attentional quality, and a more conscious way of living.
Each course is progressively structured according to the participants' level of experience. Practices are continuously refined and adapted in response to each individual's learning process, needs, and development.
