Tai Chi Qigong represents two parallel paths within the internal arts that, when combined, create a powerful system for the development of both body and mind.
While Qigong, through simple yet profound exercises, cultivates breathing, energy awareness, and inner calm, Taiji manifests these qualities through flowing, practical movements.
The synergy of these two disciplines enables the practitioner to work simultaneously on health, balance, and mental clarity, while also enhancing motor skills, concentration, and coordination. This shared path bridges inner tranquility and outer dynamism, leading, through consistent practice, to a deeper connection with oneself and with nature.
Course Structure
In this program, you will gradually explore the fundamental principles of Qigong and their direct application in Taiji practice:
- Theoretical and Philosophical Foundations: What is Qi? How does Qigong influence body and mind?
- The Five Regulations:
- Regulation of the Body (balance, rooting, release of tension)
- Regulation of Breathing (natural abdominal and reverse breathing)
- Regulation of the Mind (focus and calm)
- Regulation of Qi (smooth circulation of energy in the channels)
- Regulation of Spirit (harmony with nature and inner stillness)
- Preparatory Exercises: Releasing the spine, joints, and limbs to prepare for deeper training
- Taiji Qigong Practices: Movements drawn from Taijiquan, such as “Parting the Clouds,” “White Crane Spreads Wings,” and “Push”
- Linking Qigong with Taiji: Understanding the role of energy in complete Taiji movements
- Traditional Yang Taijiquan Long Form: Alongside Qigong training, students progressively learn the traditional Yang long form, step by step. This includes detailed study of each posture, breath coordination, and the gradual integration of energy flow throughout the form.
This structure ensures that students not only learn the principles of internal energy but also apply them in performing a complete and authentic Taijiquan form—a path that leads both to health and inner peace, as well as to a deeper appreciation of this traditional martial art.
