Course Description
Taijiquan, the ancient Chinese internal art, is rooted in the harmony of stillness and movement, yin and yang. The foundational 13 Postures—comprised of the Eight Energies (Ba Men) and the Five Strategic Steps (Wu Bu)—form the structural and energetic backbone of Taiji practice.
Studying these postures offers more than physical form: it reveals the energetic dynamics, internal coordination, and deeper understanding of Taijiquan’s principles.
Course Structure
This course introduces the simplified 13 Postures Form, based on:
- 8 Energies (Ba Men): Peng (Ward Off), Lu (Roll Back), Ji (Press), An (Push), Cai (Pull Down), Lie (Split), Zhou (Elbow), and Kao (Shoulder)
- 5 Directional Steps (Wu Bu): Forward, Backward, Left, Right, and Central Equilibrium (Zhong Ding)
