Sam Aryanmehr
Biography
Aryanmehr is a teacher, researcher, and strategist in the Internal Arts. He serves as the Official Representative and Director of YMAA Iran, as well as Business Development Director and Board Member of YMAA International – Americas Headquarters, where he contributes to the preservation, development, and global advancement of the traditional teachings of Yang Style Taijiquan and Qigong through the official YMAA educational system.
His educational philosophy is founded on the integration of tradition, research, and practical experience. Rather than viewing the Internal Arts as merely a collection of physical techniques, he approaches them as comprehensive disciplines for cultivating awareness, refining movement, improving health, developing human potential, and deepening one's understanding of both self and the natural world.
Aryanmehr began his formal training in Yang Style Taijiquan under the direct guidance of Arash Rezaei, Senior Instructor of YMAA. He has continued his studies within the official YMAA curriculum, following the teachings and lineage of Grandmaster Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming. Preserving the integrity of this traditional lineage remains one of the fundamental principles of his teaching and professional practice.
Over the years, he has devoted himself to the study, practice, research, and teaching of Taijiquan, Qigong, Neigong, Push Hands (Tuishou), Internal Martial Applications, Yoga, Ayurveda, and traditional mind-body disciplines. His early background in Judo and Wrestling provided a practical foundation in biomechanics, body mechanics, force transmission, and martial movement, all of which continue to influence his teaching methodology.
In the field of Yoga, Aryanmehr was trained in the Viniyoga tradition established by T.K.V. Desikachar. He completed both the Teacher Certification and Yoga Therapist Certification programs through the American Viniyoga Institute under the guidance of Gary Kraftsow. He has also pursued advanced studies in Ayurveda, Mantra, and other Vedic disciplines under Borzou Ghaderi.
Complementing his studies in the Chinese and Indian traditions, Aryanmehr holds a Grade 2 Certification in Yumeiho Therapy from the International Institute of Preventive Medicine Practice, Japan. He has also completed Wushu Taolu Judge Certification, not as a competitive official, but to deepen his understanding of technical standards, movement evaluation, and coaching methodology.
Committed to lifelong learning, he regularly participates in official seminars and advanced webinars led by Grandmaster Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming, covering subjects such as Taijiquan, Qigong, Neigong, Meridian Theory, Internal Martial Arts, Health Qigong, and the theoretical foundations of the Internal Arts.
His philosophical outlook has been significantly influenced by Advaita Vedānta. His interdisciplinary studies extend across comparative philosophy, cognitive science, Daoist studies, Vedic literature, mythology, ritual studies, and cultural anthropology. He has also completed specialized studies in Iranian and Comparative Mythology under the renowned scholar Dr. Zhaleh Amouzgar.
At the international level, Aryanmehr contributes to the strategic development of YMAA International – Americas Headquarters, participating in educational standardization, organizational development, international collaboration, long-term planning, and the expansion of the global YMAA network. He serves as an important bridge between YMAA Iran and the international Internal Arts community.
Alongside his work in education, Aryanmehr has more than two decades of professional experience in Design Management, business development, international project management, digital infrastructure, website development, creative leadership, and innovative communication strategies. These experiences continue to support his work in organizational leadership and the long-term development of educational institutions.
All educational programs offered through YMAA Iran follow the official curriculum and standards established by YMAA International, and are conducted under the guidance and lineage of Grandmaster Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming, ensuring the authenticity, continuity, and quality of traditional transmission.
For Aryanmehr, a school is more than a place to teach techniques. It is a space for inquiry, cultivation, discipline, and personal transformation—where tradition, experience, and thoughtful practice come together to foster a deeper relationship between body, mind, and the living wisdom of classical traditions.

I have rarely met a person with deep knowledge, awareness and wisdom of "Aryanmehr", one who has deep control over his own mind and soul and others as well. an intuitive person whose studies on philosophy and mythology has expanded his knowledge in other subjects. He is flexible and at the same time does not reflect ugliness, he is up-to-date and knows how to meet people with different level of energy and consciousness, and all of these allows him to have a great impact on others.
